why some lotion come off as soon as you put it on?
Recently, I purchased a Nivea Men’s energizing hydro gel.
I put it on after I use a cleanser. Then, I put the lotion. Maybe because it reacts to alcohol content of the cleanser, the lotion bunch up together and comes off the face. anyone knows why? and what can i do to stop this?
I just want to be clear. I first used a alcohol cleanser (liquid cleanser), then I put the lotion on.
And it kinds of look like your dead skin coming off your skin when you rubbed it real hard.
To make it clear, I was actually wrong to say I used a cleanser. My wife tells me it’s a toner. And, I don’t think it’s my dead skin coming off. Only when I use my toner, I get this result. I also tried another Nivea lotion for oily skin (supposed to reduce shine). It did the exact same thing. Anyone with chemistry background? Alcohol + something = lotion clumping together.
You have sealed your skin already with the hydro gel.
And the gel and the lotion are designed to do the same thing–moisturize your face.
If you want to use the lotion, then don’t use the gel first. Put the lotion on directly after you cleanse.

Have you ever heard of a buff puff or a loofah sponge? The Buff Puff is a synthetic sponge specially made to exfoliate the face. If you are losing skin when rubbing lotion into it, then you DEFINITELY need to exfoliate! Either of these products will do the job.
It is, in fact, beneficial to exfoliate your whole body daily. They make exfoliating gloves that you can buy at any drug store or dollar store. Get a pair of these and use them with your soap daily. Getting rid of your dead skin helps keep your new skin healthy.
AND when you put the lotion on your face afterwards, use just a little of it. It shouldn’t need to be scrubbed in hard. Just spread it on your skin and rub lightly and it should disappear in that time. If it doesn’t, you are using way too much, and taking the chance of clogging your pores wtih it, making your skin condiition worse.
