Towels Full Body
Help! My towels are turning orange!?
My problem is that both my hand towel and my full body towel is turning orange. It turns orange in blobs. The towel was blue. I heard that acne medication can stain towels but I dont use any, however my room mate does. He uses Oxy i believe. Strangely enough, three large orange spots appeared on my towel over the weekend while i was visiting my parents and he was in the dorm.
Please either confirm my suspicions or tell me alternative possibilities.
There are many things that can change the color of a towel. Lotion, Facial Cleaners, Skin Scrubs, etc. The best way to find out is to take the already stained towel and run a little test.
On an area that has no stain place a small amount of the product. If you have more than one product to test then apply the samples in different shapes. For example: acne med is applied using the “X” , then lotion as a “T” and so on.
Let the towel sit for 1 day then was using the same detergent, wash cycle, water temperature and dryer setting.
You have just used the scientific method to solve for an unknown. The only variable that is changing will be the staining material.
