how to clean stains from a bath tub?
okay so i just moved into a new place, the previous renters obviously have never heard of the word “clean”, well there is hard water stains, soap stains, and some nasty THICK build up on the drain of my (it is yellow, not a white bath tub) bath tub and shower. ive tried a super hard scrubbing pad, got some of the build up on the drain off, but most is still there, NONE of the stains will some off the rest of the tub. suggestions?
Close the drain and spray the tub liberally with white vinegar. Then sprinkle with baking soda. It will start to fizz, because the acidity of the vinegar is having a chemical reaction to the baking soda. Let it sit for about 5 minutes. Then scrub it with a scrub brush or scouring pad. The grime should just start to wash off pretty easily as you scrub. After scrubbing, open the drain and rinse well.
The vinegar smell dissipates as it dries.
